Hillary Rodham Clinton. Your name is being thrown around to become the next Vice President under Obama. It's no secret, don't act so surprised. You are the Golden Child, the one that even the starchiest Republicans can say "well... she's alright". You have been a phenomenal Secretary of State under Obama and gave him a damn good run for the 2008 Democratic nomination. So why wouldn't you want to be the next Vice-President under Obama? Well, let me explain.
Ms. Clinton, it's clear that you are one of the most influential women in politics right now. So why would you give that up for a mainly ceremonial position? While you would enjoy the title that would help to endorse a further run for President, you will lack the power you are accustomed to. The most that I have heard of Joe Biden's name in the last month is a SNL shout-out from "Obama". While serving as Vice-President, you would have the power over a tie vote in the Senate, but that is rarely going to happen.
If you stay on as Secretary of State, you will be able to preside over the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Iran, while continuing to reestablish Libya. And who can forget North Korea! As the Secretary, you will have influence over many international situations. Overall, the notoriety and position of Secretary of State is a much better option. Also, the ability to supervise the United States immigration policy is something that only the President can challenge you on. That is one of the largest issues in America right now, and it will only enhance your stature and position if you are able to resolve it. This is what will cement your position as Democratic front-runner entering the 2016 Presidential race. And besides, imagine the travel miles you would lose.
