A Bright Spot In Dark Times

In an era where auto-tune and electronic alteration rules the music world, there is one bright spot that stands out like no other. With a voice that could rival Etta James, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin, British artist Adele has shown us that a beautiful voice is all you need to make great music.

Yes. I do kick ass. Thank you.

After releasing her debut album, 19, she was revealed as an up-and-coming artist. She won 2 Grammy's in 2009 for it, but she was only getting started. Adele followed that up two years later with 21 and cemented herself as the finest female voice in the music industry today. 21 claimed the top spot and hasn't let up: spending 50 weeks there without a challenger. Unlike the hype over faux-artists such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and other auto-tuned imitators, she will go down as having one of the best voices of any artist to take up the mic.
She is a throw-back to when artists would stand in front of a mic and sing. And that's it. No jumping around and crazy light show. Just music. Unlike Lana Del Rey, she can give you chills while she does it. She isn't the most beautiful artist, nor the most boisterous off-stage , yet she is the one that everyone is talking about. After she won 6 Grammy's last night, a clean sweep for her, we can expect to see more of this, and this, and hopefully another one of these to cry to.
